Dr. Scott Hrnack is a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Surgeon. He sees a variety of general orthopedic conditions including nonoperative and operative adult orthopedics and pediatric orthopedics, arthroscopy, fracture management, joint pains, joint replacement, cartilage restoration, regenerative medicine, and sports medicine. His goal is to provide the absolute best quality orthopedic and sports medicine care using state-of-the-art equipment at Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Grapevine, Texas. His philosophy in treatment includes exhausting all conservative measures, if possible, prior to moving to operative management.
Dr. Hrnack began his medical training at the University of Texas at Houston. Following graduation from medical school, he began his orthopedic training at Tulane University in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina temporarily relocated Dr. Hrnack to Vanderbilt in Nashville where he continued to train for 9 months before landing back in Texas to finish his last three years of training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
After residency, Dr. Hrnack pursued advanced specialty fellowship training in arthroscopic procedures and sports management in Plano, Texas. At his fellowship and during residency, he published several articles, presented research at several meetings, and co-authored a book chapter. He continues as a volunteer reviewer and is on the Editorial board for the Arthroscopy Journal.
Dr. Hrnack has excelled in sports and academics throughout his life. Growing up in the North Dallas area, he competed in gymnastics both for J.J. Pearce High School and at the private club level. After high school, he attended Syracuse University on both an athletic and academic scholarships. Throughout his gymnastics career, he won various titles and honors at the high school, college, state, and national levels. He was named 1996 Eastern Coast Athletic Conference rookie of the year and earned a spot on the Team 2000 USA National Gymnastics Team.
Dr. Hrnack continues to lead a very active lifestyle. He is married to his wife, Shelbi, who is a Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist.
